If thereís one room in the house most people long to be high end, itís the bathroom. A room of relaxation and rest. The one place everyone can find time to themselves within, even if itís two minutes. The bathroom is our sanctuary. And you donít need to break the bank to create a luxe environment.

Frame a flat bathroom mirror with molding for a classic and one-of-a-kind look. Detailed millwork is synonymous with an upscale home because more time and effort has been put into the fine details. Pick a style of molding that matches your unique preferences and a wood stain or paint color to match the rest of your decor.

A new shower head isnít immediately visible so itís not a style upgrade. However, itís an upscale lifestyle upgrade to be certain. A rain shower head provides a steady, even flow of water while covering more surface space.

Update the light fixture(s) in your bathroom to change the aesthetics and light quality. There are many sleek, minimalist vanity light fixtures on the market if you are looking to keep up with trends. For a dramatic change look for sconce shapes that differ from those already installed. If you have bell-shaped sconces look for a square or rectangular option. If you have bulbs try ovaluar or sleek coned shape sconce.

Install matching metal finishings from the faucet to drawer pulls. Sometimes as we update our homes feature by feature mismatched hardware happens. Take the opportunity to create a cohesive harmony throughout the room by matching knobs, faucets and light fixture finishes. Knobs being the most budget friendly and easiest to swap, try to match these to your existing hardware and not the other way around.

A new coat of paint can make the world of difference in any room. Bathrooms seem to seldom get the same playful attention to color as other rooms do. And a color from years past can dramatically date a room despite more classic pieces within it. Donít be afraid to make a bold statement with a pop of color. Or cover up tired blue walls with a neutral shade for a high-end look.

Invest in a towel warmer for a luxe after-bathing experience. With many styles to choose from youíll be sure to find one in a style that fits your current decor without a problem. Towel warmers come as drawers or as a rack. Racks either install on the wall or come as a stand-alone piece. All three options can utilize an outlet without having to be installed as a part of your electrical work like a light fixture would.

One surprising way to upgrade your bathroom is with plants. Look for varieties that thrive off of humidity to create a lush, paradise. Plants have a soothing effect and will have your bathroom feeling like a true oasis. If you donít have a natural green thumb consult an expert at your local gardening center to find those that will do best in the lighting and air conditions of your bathroom.

An entryway is the first room you enter when coming home and the first to welcome guests. Many couples have a grand entryway at the top of their wishlist when buying a new home. Make yours count with upscale upgrades that wonít break the bank. Here are my tips for creating a high-end entryway no matter the size of your budget:

Paint vent covers a new color and/or finish. This is a great subtle way to add a touch of luxury to your entryway. You can find spray paint in every tone and finish possible to match the rest of the hardware in your hall. Be sure to allow it to dry well before putting them back in place. Alternatively, you can swap out a plain grill for one with more decorative detail.

Add decorative brackets tucked against the tread on the side of your stairs for a unique handcrafted millwork detail. Paint and or stain them to match the original woodwork. This will give your home a touch of upscale elegance visitors will fawn over. If your stairs are painted consider giving them a fresh coat of paint while working on this project for a clean new feel.

Add frames to your light switch plates and paint them to match. Luxury is all about the details, quite literally. This is a quick project with big impact. Consider hunting around antique shops for a vintage option. Donít feel you have to paint them stark white. Try a deep brown or a creme color for your plates.

Create faux baseboards along bare walls with molding. You can even create a wood-paneled look by installing molding along the halfway point of your wall and painting the area down to the baseboards all of the same color. Install molding fitted into rectangular frames along this space for a more detailed look.

Update your entryways light fixture to a piece that is more upscale and elegant. Replace flush mount light fixtures with a chandelier or pendant light that is just as stunning as it is functional. Afterall, good lighting is key to an entryway that wows.

Add new life to your entryway with a fresh coat of paint. Rich, deep colors and neutrals feel high-end and luxurious. This is a great room to choose two colors for - one for the top half of walls and another for the bottom half. This is another way to create a unique and interesting room without installing paneling.

Bring in a runner or carpet to add a layer of depth and luxury to your entryway. While oriental style carpeting is a classic donít be afraid to choose a pattern you love. Again, neutrals will guarantee a high end feel to the room. With that said rich, warm colors can feel chic and glamorous.
